Optogenetics

A core problem throughout synthetic biology is control over gene expression. Optimization of engineered biological systems requires precise control over the rates and timing of gene expression.  As an alternative to chemical induction used to dynamically control gene expression, optogenetics provides a convenient interface between digital control software and microbial culture.  Stay tuned on how we integrate optogenetics and microfluidics to  further optimize metabolic pathways or to enhance capabilities in precision medicine.
